Why Use Thermography?
Infrared Color Bar

Infrared thermography is a technique that produces visible images from thermal patterns. Infrared thermography is our specialty. We use only high-resolution infrared camera systems from Mikron.

Thermogaphy is the use of an infrared imaging and measurement camera to produce temperature-calibrated infrared . . . .or heat pictures. Based on these thermal images, accurate temperature measurements can be made to detect the smallest temperature differences.

Thermal, or infrared energy, is invisible light; it’s the part of the electromagnetic spectrum we perceive as heat. Unlike visible light, in the infrared world, everything with a temperature above absolute zero emits energy as heat. The higher the object's temperature, the greater the IR radiation emitted. Infrared allows us to see what our eyes cannot.

Infrared thermography can be used to inspect electrical and mechanical systems, industrial predictive and preventive maintenance, and a wide range of research and development applications, plus building envelopes and insulated roofs.

HOME ENERGY AUDITS are another plus to the infrared spectrum. Infrared cameras present accurate temperature measurements without having to contact or tear into the surveyed item. Almost all things become elevated in temperature prior to failing, making thermography a particularly cost-effective, diagnostic instrument in many varied applications.

As industry around the world endeavors to increase efficiencies, conserve energy, advance product quality, and ensure better occupational health and safety, new applications for thermography emerge continually.
